A stainless steel sheet is generally used for stainless and acid-resistant steel sheets. Stainless steel sheet was introduced at the beginning of this century. And the development of stainless steel sheets has laid an important material and technical foundation for modern industry and technological progress. The following is the introduction to the stainless steel sheet.

Here is the content list:

  • Introduction of stainless steel sheet

  • Classification of Stainless steel sheet

  • Stainless steel sheet performance

Introduction of stainless steel sheet

First of all, the surface of a stainless steel sheet is bright and clean. And it has high plasticity, toughness, and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acid, alkaline gas, solution, and other media. Furthermore, stainless steel sheet is an alloy steel that does not easily rust but is not rust-free. Finally, stainless steel sheet is generally a general term for stainless and acid-resistant steel sheets. A stainless steel sheet is a steel sheet that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam, and water. Acid-resistant steel sheet is a steel sheet resistant to corrosion by chemically leaching media such as acid, alkali, and salt.

Classification of stainless steel sheet

There are many types of stainless steel sheet with different performance, and it has gradually formed several categories in the process of development.

1. The organizational structure is divided into martensitic stainless steel sheet, ferritic stainless steel sheet, and austenitic plus ferritic duplex stainless steel sheet, etc.

2. According to the main chemical composition of the steel sheet or some characteristic elements in the steel sheet to classify, divided into chromium stainless steel sheet, chromium-nickel stainless steel sheet and low carbon stainless steel sheet, high purity stainless steel sheet, etc.

3. Classified by the performance characteristics and uses of steel sheet, divided into nitric acid-resistant stainless steel sheet, sulfuric acid-resistant stainless steel sheet, pitting-resistant stainless steel sheet, stress corrosion-resistant stainless steel sheet, high-strength stainless steel sheet, etc.

4. According to the functional characteristics of the steel plate classification, divided into low-temperature stainless steel sheets, non-magnetic stainless steel sheets, easy-cutting stainless steel sheets, superplastic stainless steel sheets, etc.

Now commonly used classification method is classified according to the organizational structure characteristics of the steel sheet and the chemical composition characteristics of the steel sheet and the combination of the two methods. Generally divided into martensitic stainless steel sheet, ferritic stainless steel sheet, austenitic stainless steel sheet, duplex stainless steel sheet, and precipitation hardening stainless steel sheet, or into two categories of chromium stainless steel sheet and nickel stainless steel sheet.

Stainless steel sheet performance

1. Corrosion resistance

A stainless steel sheet can resist general corrosion similar to that of the unstable nickel-chromium alloy 304. Prolonged heating in the temperature range of chromium carbide degree may affect the alloys 321 and 347 in harsh corrosive media. Mainly used in high-temperature applications, high-temperature applications require materials with solid resistance to sensitization to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.

2. High-temperature oxidation resistance

Stainless steel sheet has high-temperature oxidation resistance. However, the oxidation rate will be affected by the exposure environment and inherent factors such as product form.

3. Physical properties

The total heat transfer coefficient of a metal depends on other factors in addition to the thermal conductivity of the metal. In most cases, it also depends on the film heat dissipation coefficient and the surface condition of the metal. A stainless steel sheet is easy to maintain a clean surface, so it has better heat transfer than other metals with higher thermal conductivity.

A stainless steel sheet is suitable for various types of machinery and equipment, as well as exterior materials for buildings in coastal areas. We are committed to developing stainless steel sheets that are more beneficial to society and the needs of our customers because of their wide range of applications.
